About zKe
This initiative, dubbed ‘zKe’ is a platform for sustained and meaningful national engagement by and for Kenya’s youth, offering online and offline spaces where young people can actively engage in policy debates, monitor government actions, and link these discussions to tangible action. The programme’s initial phase has kicked off, inviting youth across Kenya to participate in a series of nationwide conversations, helping shape the initiative’s focus on creating impactful, youth-driven discourse.
This initiative uses unique deliberative digital spaces—like WhatsApp, Talk to the City, pol.is, and Remesh—to ensure robust discussions and gather real-time insights. zKe’s presence on social media has gained significant attention with content reaching hundreds of thousands of Kenyan citizens.
zKe embodies the vibrant spirit of Generation Z and the pride of Kenya, representing a forward-thinking movement for positive change.

What’s next?
We’re getting ready to launch Phase 2—a bold new journey that will make your voice even more powerful. We are redesigning the engagement process to be bigger, better, and more action-driven. Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming:
🔹 TALK – Fresh youth-led and issue-based conversations in county youth assemblies, on TV and radio, and via X Spaces and TikTok Live. We’ll also experiment with tools like pol.is and Remesh to host more dynamic, inclusive debates.
🔹 TRACK – We’ll follow whether your contributions are being heard. That means tracking bills under public participation, monitoring implementation, and maintaining an online tracker to keep you in the loop.
🔹 ACT – We’ll go beyond talk. zKE will run civic education and anti-misinformation campaigns—using tools like Phoenix to counter disinformation and polarization. We’ll also identify opportunities for citizen action and share policy ideas with decision-makers.
🔹 TRANSFORM – We’ll connect your insights directly with parliamentary processes, government ministries, and the judiciary, making sure your concerns are part of real legislative and policy shifts.
